Anping tree house ,enjoying the cozy time under the banyan tree.

The Tainan Anping Tree House was originally a warehouse of the Teck Kee Foreign Bank. The exterior is surrounded by banyan tree roots, and the interplay of light and shadow inside the house adds a sense of mystery; on the second floor, there is also an aerial walkway surrounded by banyan trees, which is a good place to take a rest for a while.

Tree house exterior and surroundings
The trunks of the banyan trees here are almost glued to the brick walls, and as a Tainaner, I occasionally pass by here and take a walk to cool off. (Free for Tainan residents)
- Opening hours: 8:30am – 17:30pm daily
- Tickets: NT$50 full ticket, NT$25 half ticket, free for Tainan citizens

A lot of aerial roots fell around the house.

The tree trunks and leaves fill the frame and the roof is covered, isn’t it spectacular and special! The walls are similar in color to the branches of the trees, and it looks as if the house has branches growing out of it.

The white building next to the tree house is the Teck Kee Foreign Bank, so you can take a look at the history, but I am not interested in history, so I didn’t go in to take pictures.

The building next to the Teck Kee Foreign Bank is the former residence of Mr. Chu Jiu-ying, which displays Mr. Chu’s calligraphy works, and I like the style of the courtyard, too.

Back by the tree house, there is also a small store selling souvenirs.

There are two waterwheels at the back of the park, but most of them are for kids to step on, so I only stealthily stepped on them once~. (When I left the tree house, I had to face the hot sun)

Treehouse Skywalk
There are several staircases along the wall that lead to the second floor.

There is also an alternative natural pavilion on the roof where you can laze around for an afternoon with these chairs.

The skywalk is my favorite place to walk, it’s like walking through a forest, and the sunlight coming down is amazing.

The walkway has wooden floors, yellowed leaves and light.

You can see the whole banyan tree lying on the roof of the house, and if you take a closer look, you will find that some saplings are sprouting on the house!

Treehouse Interior
Inside the house, there is an exaggerated view of tree roots descending from the sky or walking down the wall, showing the full force of life!

The spalling brick walls are also stabilized by the roots of the trees that surround them.

Inside, there are many small doors that can be interconnected, which gives the feeling of a maze, and the light and shadow inside the house are also fascinating. It takes about an hour to walk around inside and outside of the house, so if you’re in Anping, you should definitely take a walk around!
