Eternal Golden Castle,Beadtree Flower Season in March.
With the arrival of spring in March, Tainan’s flower season has officially begun! When you come to Eternal Golden Castle(Yizai Golden City) at this time, you will not only stroll around the ancient monuments, but also with the neem flowers in full bloom, just like the snow in March ~ In addition, the yellow-flowered tumbleweeds are also blooming in this season, and with the rich forest, it is really suitable for the morning or afternoon to come to take a walk, relaxation.

Inside the Eternal Golden Castle walls
I’ve been to Yizaijinseong many times. I grew up in Anping, so I was very casual every time I came here, and I didn’t notice the beautiful neem flowers here, but after I liked to take photos, I passed by here one time and found that the trees were covered with white flowers, so I took some time to come and take photos of the neem flowers here, and I really found out that there was such a beautiful view here very late in the day!
There are a lot of trees other than neem trees in the wall. I remembered Yizaijinseong, and used to walk there when I was a kid, but here in March, my impression was shattered, and there were a lot of white flowers on the trees!
Walking on the city wall, and at the same time walking under the neem tree, my head was covered with white flowers.
Neem flowers have lavender centers and white petals with a hint of lavender.
This photo is one of my favorites in this post, a family walking through a tree full of neem flowers, this one is a very tall individual in it.
The light here is also one of my favorite parts of the place. The late afternoon sunlight hits the trees and creates a variety of light and shadows.
For the residents of this neighborhood, Yizai Gold City is not like a monument, but like a park for leisure and relaxation on weekdays. Tickets are free of charge for Tainan residents, and there are really a lot of people who come here to take a walk in the mornings or afternoons to enjoy the coolness ~ Spring, fall, and winter is a good time for me, but it’s really too hot in the summer! (In summer, you have to go here before 9 am and after 4 pm.)
Taking the neem flowers as the foreground of the representative city gate ~ After entering the city gate, there are neem trees in the half circle towards the north, and you can see the neem flowers all over the place! The other half of the circle has only scattered trees.
Outside the Eternal Golden Castle wall
Outside the city walls will be the area where most of the people will be moving around, with many more resting places and trees to cool off than inside, and the walkways become green tunnels surrounded by trees.
At the same time as the neem flowers, there are also yellow-flowered bellflowers, concentrated in a certain area in the periphery, I forget which direction, you can see it when you walk around ~ when I took the following three photos, the flower condition is not very good, every year the situation is different, depending on luck.
Outside the city, you can see the whole neem tree more clearly, you will find a lot of people taking photos under the tree, the couple in the photo spent at least 10 minutes taking photos at the same spot, the guy made a lot of trips back and forth ~ every time he finished taking a photo, he had to take it to the girl to check if she got it right! I myself took photos from a distance and from different viewpoints, and this is the one I ended up with.
Outside the city wall, I watched the sea of neem flowers on the wall, crowds of people coming and going, taking pictures of the neem flowers.
On the slopes of the city wall, neem trees are interspersed with mimosas, and duck boats can be paddled underneath.
You can see a few neem seeds (earth-colored seeds) during the flowering season in March. I used to remember the flower season in Yizai Jincheng most vividly as the phoenix blossoms in May and June, but now I’ve changed my mind ~ what I remember most now is the neem blossoms in March!
Whether you’re a Tainan native or not, we recommend coming here in the afternoon in March, as the warm colors of the late afternoon light shine on the area and the view is stunning. (And it’s easy to park!)
