Teapot Mountain Trail, beautiful mountain and sea views of New Taipei.
The Earless Teapot Mountain Trail, which starts from near the parking lot of the Church of Persuasion, is a relaxing route that allows you to enjoy the beautiful mountain and ocean views of Ruifang, New Taipei, such as Keelung Mountain, the Yin Yang Sea, and Keelung Island, etc. There are also many pavilions with good outlooks where you can relax and take a rest, and it’s really enjoyable to enjoy the cool sea breeze and the wide-open view.

Teapot Mountain Trail
You can park your car in the parking lot of the Church of Persuasion (fee charged) and then start walking. Going in the east direction, you can see the broken red brick house, just head towards this place ~ this red brick building is a popular photo spot, and a lot of people stop here.
As soon as you open it, you can slightly see the Yin Yang Sea (an area of earthy yellow colored water).
The fully-planned stone staircase trails, which are all like this at the beginning, are quite comfortable, except for a little bit of panting along the way.
When you reach a certain height, you can start to see the pavilion. The picture here is so simple that it’s nice to look at ~ because there are no complicated trees, simple green slopes with the same color of the sea and the blue sky! The scenery is quite harmonious.
A distant view of Keelung Mountain.
The view of the Sea of Yin Yang from a distance, compared to the beginning, you can see the complete Sea of Yin Yang from this angle, but I used a telephoto lens to get such a big picture~!
After walking along the neat stone steps, there is the land section. Walking along the land section means that the destination is not far away ~ the photo below is taken back, it is from the left side of the road, and then it will continue behind me, while the right side of the road is just a way to the pavilion.
I really like the gazebo here. On a green hillside with no tall trees, the orange and red gazebo stands out, and is a nice accent to the simple mountain and sea scenery.
I’ll take a picture of the same pavilion on the way down.
The land section of the trail changes back to a rocky trail after the climb, what doesn’t change is that it continues to climb, this trail just keeps going up and up, with very little flat ground to walk on (it’s not very steep).
Although the mountain is not very high, the view of the way back is really spectacular! The advantage of not having a forest is that the view is very good.
Mountaineers enjoying the seascape as well.
The pavilion in the picture is the last one (the highest one), I ate a banana and a cup of soymilk there for my lunch, I could see the Keelung Mountain and the Yin Yang Sea very clearly, thanks to the good weather that day, and the pavilion is not far from the top of Chapel Peak (behind me at the time of the photo).
The road to the top of the hill, weekday crowds, piles of people.
The path to the top is a bit difficult to climb, some of the rocks are quite big and I am a bit afraid of heights so I didn’t climb up there.
Here’s a shot of Teapot Hill from Jinguashi Park. This angle makes it look like a teapot, which is basically impossible to see (at least not to me) if you go by the route in this post.
Walked to the top and then returned to the pavilion just sat down to rest, the end of the half-day trip, I was followed that afternoon to go to walk the Jinguashi Geopark, Newspaper Hill Trail ~ the scenery is also very beautiful, the link to the article I put later.
