The Bitan Tourist Attraction is a great choice for youthful travelers in New Taipei, with trails for biking and strolling, as well as a place to sit quietly on the large grassy lawn and relax! On the suspension bridge, you can enjoy the flow of the stream, watch the birds slowly fly by, and finally spend a leisurely afternoon at a restaurant on the waterfront.

Bitan Tourist Attraction

As soon as you leave the parking lot after parking, you can see a green scene! Green grass, green mountain walls, green streams, instantly the mood is more pleasant.

The flat tarmac road next to the meadow was also full of tourists on bicycles, and the overcast weather was perfect for this setting with little shade, as the nearby mountains were shrouded in clouds.

A cozy family walk, watching them walk slowly by, time seems to be slowed down, it feels very relaxing.

Suddenly, I found an old man hiding in a groove in the grass, and my heart was filled with questions about what he was doing. What is he doing? He’s probably studying the flowers or the grass, right?

Bitan has a rich bird life! Common birds such as White-headed Spoonbills fly everywhere, and we saw close to 10 Black Kites circling in the sky that day. I took a few photos but almost all of them were backlit, so I didn’t put them on the article here, so if you’re ever in Bitan, you can pay attention to what’s going on in the sky.

A golden dove resting above the parking lot, this is the first time I’ve photographed this bird ~, he stayed on the pole for more than an hour and was really relaxed ~

Black-collared starling, this is also my first shot, the day I drove from Tainan on the first day of travel in the north, Bitan just get off the car to rest and walk around the place, at first did not take the bird of the bulky lens out of the car, and then because I saw a lot of birds flying around in this environment, only to go back to the car to get the camera (originally already away from the car for a long distance), and the stream is also quite a lot of waterfowl ~ most of the egrets and night herons, and not particularly photographed. I didn’t take any special photos.

There is an abandoned boat by the creek, which is used as a pot for planting flowers! Very creative. The purple flowers are lavender, right? (I don’t know much about flowers)

On the other side of the stream, there is an exposed mountain wall, which looks particularly spectacular.

The suspension bridge on the left is the Bitan Suspension Bridge. There are many pedal boats under the bridge, but I didn’t see any tourists playing on it, probably because there are mostly elderly people here on normal days, and walking is their favorite.

This is a place where you can see the natural side of the city as well as the cityscape of high-rise buildings, which is less common in the plains of the southern part of the country.

At noon, you can go to the restaurant on the riverbank to have a meal and afternoon tea ～ or go to the back of Xindian Old Street, there are also many stores to eat, all are very good choices～.
