Yawarmas Trail

Yawumasi Hiking Trail,Forest Path and Forest Suspension Bridge.

The Yawumasi Hiking Trail is located in Leno, Alishan, and was used by early residents. The dense bamboo forests are a common sight here, and there are also broadleaf forests in the area ~, and on the way, you will pass by two suspension bridges, where you can hear the pleasant sound of the water flowing, making it a quiet and tranquil trail that can be completed in less than two hours.

The junction of the trail is located next to several tea gardens, with a wide view of the neighboring valleys, and the bamboo forest below is where the trail begins.

Before entering the bamboo forest, you will see a few cherry trees and plum trees, so come here at the end of January to enjoy the blossom season.

The first part of the bamboo forest trail is downhill all the way, with almost no other plants to be seen in the bamboo forest. At an altitude of about 1,000 above sea level, the bamboo forest is still cool even when the sun shines, but the ground is unusually wet and slippery due to the lack of sunlight on the trail!

After the gradient of the section was gentle, plants other than bamboo forests gradually appeared, and my heart was finally relaxed. The downhill steps were almost all made of artificial cement, which was really slippery ~ the scenery began to change and also changed my mood.

It is common to see moss or parasitic plants on the rocks.

After crossing the bamboo forest, you will come to the first suspension bridge, the Lala Wuya Suspension Bridge, which is a small bridge with a narrow width, but not many people come here, so you can enjoy the scenery from the bridge ~ On that day, we came to walk this trail with our friends during the holiday, and we didn’t meet any mountain hikers here except us.

I like the atmosphere of this suspension bridge, almost surrounded by trees.

A small stream flows under the bridge. During the non-rainy season, the water flows slowly down the stream and there are quite a few small fish swimming in the water.

After crossing the suspension bridge, you can finally see the rare sky. This trail is perfect for those who don’t want to get a tan.

The second suspension bridge, the Yawarmas Suspension Bridge is not far from the first one, but the view at the entrance is not as nice as the first one.

The view from the bridge was also rather mediocre, so I didn’t spend too much time taking photos on the bridge at the moment.

After crossing the bridge, I could immediately see a few giant trees along the trail, which was one of my favorite sights of the trip, and should be considered as a special feature of the trail (I personally think so~). I spent more than 10 minutes taking some photos before continuing down the trail!

The trail behind the giant tree is mostly a gently ascending route, with bamboo forests on both sides and no change in scenery, and all the way to the beginning of the downward-cutting route, at the beginning, all the way down, I thought that the return trip would be very tiring, but fortunately, the return trip is longer, so that the upward gradient will be more moderate.

When I returned to the intersection, it was noon, so I ate some rice balls bought from a supermarket and enjoyed the flowers.

The pavilion in the upper left corner of the picture below is the entrance to the trail, and you can take a stroll around the tea garden after walking the trail.
