Dalunshan Lookout

Nantou Dalunshan Lookout tea plantations，Ginkgo trees are a rare species in Taiwan, and the place where they are planted more is probably the Dalun Mountain area in Nantou, and there are also some in the interior of the Xitou Forest Recreation Area (but only in a small area), and the leaves turn yellow in the fall, around mid-September to the beginning of October – earlier than the maple blush, so you might want to come over to take a walk to have a look.

It was mid-November when we went to the DALUNSHAN ginkgo forest, and many of the leaves had already fallen, about 40% of them were left, but it was still quite beautiful. I had a small hot pot at lunch at a restaurant near the Wusui Farm, and I was able to enjoy the scene in the picture while I was eating (I took this picture before the food was delivered).

The shape of ginkgo leaves is quite special, I think it looks like a golden butterfly with spreading wings. When the leaves wither, it will start from the very front of the leaves, since I arrived late, I can find brown dead leaves mixed in between the yellow leaves in the photo.

Even after the peak of the yellow leaves (there are a few tall ginkgoes next to the restaurant that have not yet turned yellow, and they are among the few that haven’t lost their leaves), there are still many older tourists who go there by chartered tour buses, because after all, this place is mainly a tourist tea plantation.

Many of the ginkgo trees have lost their leaves, and the dead branches are neatly arranged between the tea gardens, which gives a different feeling to the picture.

The trails here are complete and sound, with both stone and wooden steps, but the environment is humid and slippery, so be careful~, and you can walk under the golden ginkgo trees in many places, which is a rare sight in Taiwan~.

Fog starts to form after noon in the Dalun Mountain area, as well as in the neighboring creeks and Cedar Creek, so you should pay attention to each other when you are driving or walking!

The tea plantation in the fog is particularly tranquil, and the white sky behind us makes it possible to concentrate more on the things in front of us.

Walking between the tea gardens, there are only yellow and green in front of you, the tourists in front of you have gone into the fog, the whole space is your own concept, you can’t see the distance but you can clearly hear many birds chirping, I like to slow down in such an environment and walk slowly～.

Red Acacia can be found from time to time among the tea gardens, and the big red flowers make many people stop to take a few pictures, which is a kind of embellishment in the yellow-green world.

If you come here around the end of September to mid-October, the withered ginkgoes in the picture below are full of golden leaves, and with the blue sky and white clouds, the picture will be very nice. The conclusion is to come in the right month, and then come here in the morning to avoid the dense fog!

DALUNSHAN is also a famous place to take pictures of sunset with clouds. If you have enough time, you can enjoy the ginkgo trees and then wait until the sunset, next time I will stay until the sun goes down.
