Jialeshui
Pingtung Jialeshui falls,Unlike the many sandy beaches on Kenting Main Street, Jialeshui in Manzhou features a rocky coastal terrain. There are no water amusement facilities, and no shelters provided by vendors for resting. However, the unique rock formations offer a completely different travel experience.

Walking from the entrance, with hills on one side and the open sea on the other, there is a straight road leading to the very end. It’s not as crowded as the west side of Kenting. Walking on the brick road, listening to the sounds of the wind and waves, along with the expansive view, can be very relaxing.

Here, there are amusement cars, and the drivers on the cars are responsible for explaining the unique strange rocks. Most visitors choose to take a ride, after all, walking from the entrance to the end is about 2.5 kilometers, and round trip is about 5 kilometers. The entire route has no tree coverage, so choose according to your preference!

Along the way, you’ll encounter many stones that resemble various things. The one in the picture below is the “Sleeping Pig Stone” (a stone that looks like a pig lying upside down).

This is the Frog Stone, to be honest, I can’t really see it resembling a frog. It could be due to the angle I took the photo; it doesn’t look like one.

On the left in the picture below, it actually looks a bit like a frog.

At the entrance, there will be explanations of the names of each rock. After reading the descriptions, I tried to find and capture them along the way. In the end, I only recognized the battleship rock in the picture below. The other photos were confirmed slowly after I got home. It really tests your imagination. If you take the sightseeing car, you’ll get the answers directly.

In addition to observing the rocks, I also pay attention to what’s on the hillside. What caught my curiosity were several buildings that looked like restrooms or observation decks. They were surrounded by overgrown vegetation, possibly abandoned for some time. Incorporating them into the photos could be a nice choice!

Among the rocks and puddles, there are often fish swimming around, making the ecosystem rich. A long time ago, vendors at the entrance used to sell nets for visitors to catch small fish, but I haven’t seen that recently. I hope everyone can cherish this ecological environment! The wind here is quite strong, and waves can splash along the shore, so please be careful when observing.

Jialeshui falls
The final destination of the Manzhou Jialuo Water Scenic Area is the Jialeshui Waterfall. The stream from the upstream creek flows directly into the sea, creating a unique mountain-sea waterfall. I remember coming here in my childhood, taking the sightseeing car, and although I don’t recall what the driver explained, the impression of this waterfall remains vivid!

Behind the waterfall is the only pavilion in the scenic area. It takes about 40 minutes to walk from the entrance, but if you take a car, you’ll get there quickly—saving time to sit under the pavilion, relax, and enjoy the sea view.

On the opposite shore of the waterfall, there is a vast area of rocky terrain that has been eroded by seawater over the years. The patterns carved out are aesthetically pleasing and spectacular, and visitors spend time capturing a few photos here.

The extended rolling coastal line has always been one of my favorite coastal landscapes. From Longpan Grassland to Jiale Water, this area often offers such terrain. However, the combination of the mountain-sea waterfall and the sculpted rocky coast here gives a unique and different feeling.
